The Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) has made no secret of their opposition to HB597, the Common Core Repeal and Replace bill, a bill that would begin to restore local control. This comes as no surprise given the money funneled from the national association via the Gates Foundation, which no doubt inspired their testimony before the Rules & Reference Committee, and certainly explains their lock-step alignment with the federal and state education establishment.
As you read this, the 2014 OSBA Capital Conference and Trade Show, “Leadership for Learning“, is taking place in Columbus. Today’s agenda revealed but yet another perilous position for Ohio’s children. Due to the dependence and ever increasing lust for federal education dollars, Ohio schools are now subjected to the progressive federal discrimination laws that call for free reign access to gender specific facilities and gender separated activities.
The slides below for instance recommend that if “Johnny” wakes up feeling like “Jasmine”, he be permitted to use the restrooms and locker rooms of the gender with which he identifies, including on overnight trips, otherwise the district will be considered at risk for litigation on grounds of harassment.
Adding to the madness, is the fact that this same recommendation applies to staff member “Mr. Smith” who may wake up feeling like “Mrs. Smith”. Yes, you read that correctly.
Here are a few slides from the session handout, “Gender and Sexual Orientation in the Schools”.
Do your kids use the restroom or locker room at school? Per Federal law, the desires of “M/M Smith” and “Johnny and Jasmine” will determine the policy with which your school must comply.
Does the OSBA represent your local district’s interests or those of the special interest agenda? Let’s not forget, our local tax dollars are funding this so called “leadership in learning” operation.
Note: The City of Cleveland is considering an emergency ordinance this week to force “gender identity” based access citywide.
